James M. Wilson, DDS

Dr. Wilson is an East Bay native. He ventured to the Central Valley for college at California State University, Fresno. He came back to attend dental school and graduated from the University of California at San Francisco - School of Dentistry in 1993. He has had his practice in Castro Valley since 1996.

Dr. Wilson is very proud of his team of dental professionals. They attend many educational classes together and all take pride in providing a friendly and comfortable dental experience for their patients. Dr. Wilson has completed hundreds of hours of advanced education in various aspects of dentistry. Dr. Wilson and his team are dedicated to providing the highest level of care using the best techniques and materials.

Dr. Wilson listens to what each patient wants and needs and provides comprehensive care that’s tailored for them. He’s exceptional with apprehensive patients. Many patients who started out needing a family member to bring them and had to have nitrous (laughing gas), now come to their dental appointments by themselves and no longer need nitrous to complete their treatment.

Dr. Wilson enjoys a busy life away from the practice. He’s been married to his wonderful wife, Eileen, for 13 years. They have 3 boys; Ben, Tommy and Matt. Dr. Wilson enjoys coaching his kids in soccer, baseball and basketball. He’s a San Francisco Giants fan and an avid golfer who gets a round of golf in whenever he can.

Katelyn Punzo – Registered Dental Assistant

Katelyn has been in the dental field for five years and joined our team in April of 2006. The most enjoyable aspects her job is getting to know her patients, making them comfortable and tending to their needs.

She is the eldest of two daughters and has lived in the Bay Area her whole life. She comes from a family of Registered Dental Assistants (RDA). Her mom is a retired RDA and her sister, Jayme, is currently an RDA in an orthodontic office. Katelyn and her husband, Rick, are the proud new parents of Kayla Nicole, born September 15, 2007

She has also been very active in her church for eighteen years where she now teaches Sunday School and sings in the choir. Her hobbies are scrapbooking and going to the Oakland A’s games. Let’s Go Oakland!!

Laurie Childers – Registered Dental Hygienist

Laurie has been here longer than Dr. Wilson! She started working for Dr. Hunter in 1994 after graduating from Chabot College where she received her degree in Dental Hygiene. Prior to that, she was a Registered Dental Assistant for 15 years. She really enjoys seeing her patients and helping them achieve healthier mouths.

Laurie has lived in Castro Valley all of her life. She lives with her husband, Mark, and has two grown sons, Matthew and Nick. Her hobbies include gardening, camping and mostly visiting Maui.

Tammy Riggs – Registered Dental Hygienist

Tammy joined our team in May of 2008. She's been in the dental field for over 14 years. She started her career as a registered dental assistant and found she enjoyed the work and the team environment in the office. After raising her two children, she went back to school to further her education. She graduated from Dental Hygiene School in December 2007 from Western Career College in San Jose. Dental Hygiene runs in the family as her daughter, Christy, is also a hygienist.

Tammy and her husband have lived in Fremont since 1979. She enjoys spending time with her family, watching movies and going out to dinner. She also enjoys being outdoors, camping and boating when her and her husband can get away.

Pattie Hurd – Office Manager

Pattie joined our team in June of 2002. She came from IBM/Lotus and didn’t have any dental experience but she had business experience. She’s been instrumental in the remodeling of our office, upgrading our systems, and creating a very nice reception area complete with a Coffee Bar that includes, coffees, teas and hot chocolate. She’s learned a lot about the dental field and even helps out every once in awhile in the lab sterilizing instruments and assisting Dr. Wilson in a pinch. She enjoys seeing the patients and ensuring their visits are comfortable and pleasant.

She lives in Hayward with her husband, Dan, and their two sons, Matthew and Michael. Both boys are very involved in sports. Their daughter, Ashleigh and son-in-law, Daniel, welcomed their first baby, Gabriela Nicole on July 3, 2007. We’re so excited to be grandparents.

Besides being an avid coffee drinker, her hobbies include scrapbooking/stamping and being involved with her children. She teaches a monthly scrapbooking club and loves making gifts for family and friends. Her and Dan are also very active in the Hayward High Athletic Booster Club.

Charlene Priddy – Front Office Administrator/X-ray Technician

Charlene joined us in July of 2003 and is the “voice” of our office. She’s a pro at managing the schedule! Charlene was born on the beautiful islands of Hawaii and moved to California at the age of 6. She was first introduced to the dental field in 2000 by her wonderful boyfriend, Kurt, who is a dental assistant and she’s loved the dental field ever since. She received her X-ray License in 2005 and assists the hygienists and Dr. Wilson.

Her favorite part of her job is meeting new people and helping patients achieve a pleasant and comfortable dental experience from the beginning to the end. Outside of the office, Charlene loves spending time with her family and friends. She also dances hula, enjoys traveling and just living life to the fullest.
